The first of the 3 Legend courses located on this tract of land to open, Heathland is as close to a Scottish layout as you're ever going to find in Myrtle Beach. Pot bunkers are plentiful, heather abounds, there's gorse galore, an army of berms and even one hole that is patterned after the Road Hole at St. Andrews. In keeping with the true Scottish tradition of a links course, all the trees were removed from the playing area enabling the wind to blow with more force than on any course on the Strand. Naturally, the wind now becomes an inescapable part of your game along with the strategically located bunkers and the dense deep rough bordering the fairways. The big clock under the eaves of the clubhouse gives another St. Andrews touch, making this a course that would probably be more at home in the Scottish countryside than in South Carolina.
